Natalie del Villar is a Queens based visual artist of Afro-Taino decent, born and raised in NYC. With a deep love for community and visual art as a means of therapy and enrichment, she teaches art workshops all throughout the city. She serves as a teaching artist at public schools for the organizations Arts for All, and Partnership with Children, teaches a painting course for older adults as part of Brooklyn Public Library's Creative Aging program, and is a staple at Hamilton Madison House at 50 Madison Street, where she has been developing intergenerational visual arts workshops for the past several years. Her work as a teaching artist revolves around creating and facilitating workshops for all age groups, with a focus on mixed media, the use of recycled materials, painting and exploring a variety of traditional mediums. Emphasis is placed on believing in one's vision, and paying close attention to detail. Natalie believes every student has the ability to make art they should be proud of.
